Purple Blood

One of Chi Beta’s biggest recruiting promotions is called “Purple Blood.” During XBX’s reception, the President of Chi Beta Chi will fake sick throughout the day. When the reception starts, the president continues to act sick until he faints. People rush in and save him with “Purple Blood.”

"The PLACE"

One of Chi Beta Chi’s greatest traditions was “The Place.” This was something no other club had. It was a place where all the members could hang out and relax with one another. Just off of White Ave. next to a small pond, there was a barn that the property owners allowed Chi Beta Chi to use. We would use it for club meetings, get-togethers, study times, devotionals, or just to hang out. It was laced with purple and gold. It contained all kinds of Chi Beta Chi memorabilia, pictures, and trophies. However, in the fall of 2008 The Place burned to the ground. We lost most of the Chi Beta Chi memorabilia except for a few pictures and ashes.

Club Sucess

XBX has won six Makin’ Music Sweepstakes since it’s conception in 1989. We have also won three of the last 5 Makin Music Sweepstakes in the past five years. Not only have we won Makin’ Music but we have also won the Intramural Sports Trophy two years ago. On the other hand, we have not won the Homecoming trophy. But, we recently received the 2nd place Homecoming trophy this past year. Chi Beta Chi has been and continues to be a major contender in all intra-club competitions.

As a social club on Freed-Hardeman's Campus, Chi Beta Chi has had a rich history since 1989. Chi Beta Chi is a social club that was established in 1989. Our mascot is the eagle, our letters are XBX, and our colors are purple and gold. Our mission statement is to provide opportunities for our members to become active socially, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Chi Beta has so many opportunities for our members to serve God and to serve others through mission trips to Wisconsin, the City of Children, and through various service projects around Henderson. We strive to be competitive in intramurals, Makin’ Music, Homecoming, and we seek to grow through retreats, meetings, and by being an encouragement to one another. The qualities we look for in our members are: Character, Leadership, Service, Tradition, and Royalty.
